Merry Christmas

Ducks in snow 001 Wm[fusion_builder_container hundred_percent=

We three kings..

Maybe the snow isn’t quite so deep and crisp and even this year. For most of us anyway.

But whatever you are up to, just take a few moments to put your feet up and relax.

Wishing you and all your family..

A Very Happy Christmas

    • Jessica December 23, 2015 at 9:01 pm - Reply

I used to feed them Kris. They would have stood there for ever and their feet must have been so cold!

  19. Tahoe girl December 23, 2015 at 6:58 pm - Reply

Merry Christmas to you and your family. We feed the geese and ducks in our park each morning. Just some left over chicken pellets. They know my car now and come running its cute!

    • Jessica December 23, 2015 at 9:06 pm - Reply

That’s such a nice story. We rented a cottage for a while, right next to the lake in the picture. I used to feed them as well, unfortunately they came to see it as a right. They, and most particularly their buddies the geese, would literally try to beat the door down if I didn’t get out there in time!

Just as well. I’ve been running around caging emerging ‘special’ snowdrops. A certain bird of my acquaintance loves to nip the flowers off. I laugh when I read articles about attracting wildlife into the garden..

It’s Boxing Day here in NZ and I’ve just been reading through your beautiful and informative posts about Norway. What a trip… And you got to see the Northern Lights – we do get to see the Aurora Australis in NZ by the way without having to go to Antarctica. Like other readers of yours, now I’m thinking I’d like to see Oslo at least. Interesting to read your recent post about the strange flowerings: that matches my observations here over the course of this year. And now, for you, it’s Christmas Day. I hope it’s been lovely and that all the mice you’ve had to deal with have been the sugar kind… Oh and that you’ve been able to see that gloriously dazzling Christmas moon!

    • Jessica December 25, 2015 at 9:13 pm - Reply

      Hi Jeneane!
Yes, Norway was lovely. Last week the geomagnetic activity was so strong there were sightings of the Northern Lights as far south as Oxford, but that is really rare for us. There has been a very bright moon, but mostly just way too much cloud and flood warnings abound. A pretty typical Christmas the way things are going. Enjoy the NZ sunshine!
