Outside Broadcast

I am standing on the top of a Devon hill.

And it is freezing.

There is no mobile signal in the valley and now no broadband either. It disappeared yesterday afternoon and has not been seen since.

Normal service will resume when BT get themselves sorted. Or when the warmer weather arrives. Whichever is sooner.

Not just us either, about a dozen exchanges across the West Country apparently.

Same here in Kent…only inside….no hills….a bit of stupid snow…on the edge of a town.

My theory is that the Internet has gone abroad for some sun.

      Yes!!!

Hope you get connected soon. I feel lost when our broadband is shut down, which it has to be when we have storms overhead. We decided to do that after a lightning bolt rolled along the overhead electricity cable of a friend’s house, and blew up his computer!

I remember as a kid we always had to turn the TV off during thunderstorms.. hadn’t thought about computers though. We have overhead lines here too.

Hope you get connected again soon Jessica. It’s SO frustrating isn’t it ? XXXX

    • Jessica March 31, 2013 at 5:59 pm - Reply

It makes me realise just how internet dependent we have become..

Just keep stuffing the buns in to keep your sanity. Our broadband is rubbish at the moment but at least we have it. Perhaps Mike could take a photo of you in your new office at the top of the hill for us? Sorry – not funny.

So the COD are stealing the Internet??? Well, I think that is grossly unfair on us vegetarians. I may have to unleash some retaliatory broccoli.

It’s apparently the coldest Easter Day since records began. Yet more unwelcome weather related news.
