Vinaigrette, Sir?
Even worse than the squirrels are the mice.
Look what I found when I opened up the greenhouse this morning:
..Salad leaves carefully sown and tended ready for autumn. Raised on blocks to keep them safely off the floor. Now torn and mangled by mice.
And not enough that they chew on my leaves. They even want tomatoes with them too!
bastard mice
luckily I have a mouse obsessed cat and an even bigger mouse obsessed set of hens,
anything fur covered, small and omniverous will be eaten withing seconds

ps loved your Obi Wan comment
Hmmm. Hens. Now there’s a thought…
It’s that time of year I’m afraid! I found a dead one in the alley this morning. A cat had been busy in the night! Sorry you lost your salad leaves…
I think I might need a cat.. as long as they don’t attack the hens..
What a shame you lost your salad leaves. Thankfully we don’t seem to have mice in the greenhouse it is just a battle to keep out the slugs and snails as they and the weather have decimated much of the produce set in the raised beds. I don’t think our tomatoes are ever going to turn from green to red:)
Some sunshine forecast for this week, at last. Our tomatoes are now turning, but the chillies remain resolutely green. The mice leave THOSE alone at least..
At least they have a healthy diet!
Oh, they are the picture of health. Shiny coats, bright beady eyes…
