‘Dreckley’

Talking about West Country vocabulary, as we were.. the best I’ve come across yet has to be ‘Dreckley’.

As in “I’ll do it dreckley”. It may sound like ‘directly’, but don’t be misled.

This definition from Wikipedia:

‘at some point in the future; soon, but not immediately; like “mañana”, but less urgent’

I can’t think of a better way to sum up life this far from London!

It’s true, that’s the trouble. It makes organising any type of job virtually impossible, especially if it involves more than one person. Everyone works at their own pace and in their own time and even the simplest of jobs often requires a three month wait!
